PEORIA, IL— The U.S. Army Black Daggers, three Vietnam era military helicopters, and a C-130E flyover from Peoria’s own 182nd Airlift Wing will highlight a multitude of events relating to the Eagle Radio Prairie Air Show at O’Brien Field prior to the Peoria Chiefs game Friday July 23rd. The Black Daggers will be free-falling during the National Anthem with the first-pitch balls for Friday’s game. Meanwhile the three military helicopters will be on-site escorting Wayne Boggs, brother of former Major Leaguer Wade, who will be throwing the final first pitch. Following the National Anthem, a C-130E flyover will occur in the skies above O’Brien Field.

Peoria, IL- The Peoria Chiefs left six men on base in the last three innings of a game they lost 2-1 to the Swing of the Quad Cities Thursday evening at O’Brien Field.With the loss, the Chiefs fall to 49-47 overall and 11-16 in the second half.
Omar Burgos’ stepped to the plate to lead off the 11th inning and with one swing of the bat, carried the Swing to a 2-1 victory.The solo shot off Chiefs’ reliever Brandon DeJaynes was his first of the season.In the bottom of the 11th, Jarrett Hoffpauir drew a walk with two outs...
Chiefs’ News and Notes… CEFCU Kids’ Sal Frisella was 0-for-3 on the night, keeping the season total for the Children’s Hospital of Illinois at $960 …The Chiefs are 5-5 in extra inning games and 15-15 in one run games… Chris Lambert (0-0) will take the mound Friday for the final game against the Swing of the Quad Cities… Before Friday’s game there will be a presentation by the US Army Golden Daggers and C-130 aircraft, who will be partaking in this weekend’s air show…A fireworks display will also follow the game…Game time is 6:45 PM…Gates will open at 5:00 PM…All Chiefs games can be heard on WOAM 1350 AM and www.peoriachiefs.com.

PEORIA, IL - On Saturday, August 14, 2004, O'Brien Field will host Charitable Classics presentation of An Evening with Jo Dee Messina (Biography). The proceeds from this event will benefit the Children's Hospital of Illinois. This concert event is occuring in conjunction with Charitable Classics largest event, the 12th Annual O'Brien Automotive Team LPGA Charity Classic. The LPGA event, which raises money for breast cancer research, treatment and education, will be held on Sunday, August 15th and Monday, August 16th. Most of the LPGA players participating in the event will be in attendance at the concert.
